HOUSE AND TECHNO RELEASES

Hi I am David Linton. Born and raised in San Diego, CA, I was surrounded by electronic dance music from a young age. House parties were a staple of my teenage years, and it was common to see decks in charge of the music selection. It took me a year or two of observing rekordbox patterns before I finally took the plunge and bought my own controller in the Spring of 2017.

From that moment, I was hooked. While skills are essential to being a good DJ, over the past 8 years, I've learned that to earn respect as a DJ, you need tracks—lots of them. My understanding of artists grew from attending festivals and shows, which allowed me to explore the vast landscape of dance music subgenres. I love them all and keep an open mind! I quickly realized that with so many DJs and labels releasing music, it was hard to keep up. The worst feeling was stumbling upon a banger of a track and realizing it had dropped months ago. I wished there was a place where I could get updates on the latest releases. In the Summer of 2020, H&TR was born.

Now, I’m fully immersed in digging deep into the underground to uncover every new release across house and techno. For nearly 150 weeks straight, I’ve made it my mission to track down fresh sounds—not just for my DJ sets, but out of a deep passion for sharing good music with others. There’s nothing more rewarding than introducing a new artist to a friend I think they'll love, or the thrill of "ID-ing" a track when others send me a video. It was this passion that led a friend to dub me "DavID."​
